Charlotte Seuntjens (1965) was born in the Netherlands and lived in Israel and Belgium. Currently, her studio is located in Spain, in the region of Murcia.

After studying fashion and theater design, she continued as a self-taught artist in location theater and other art creations. Charlotte then went on to spend 25 years as artistic director of Theater Tol in Belgium, an international company known for its innovative, visual theater performances. Her performances were seen all over the world. But despite success as a theater maker, Charlotte's heart kept throbbing. That other great love, painting, kept tugging at her sleeve. In 2020, the urge became too strong. Charlotte then changed course and began painting full-time in her studio in Spain. Soon after, her work was picked up by several international galleries. Charlotte is targeting different platforms with her paintings. She is currently preparing for exhibitions in New York, Basel, Paris, Miami, and Monaco. Charlotte's paintings are like her theatrical performances: expressive, colorful and dynamic. She uses different techniques and materials to make a work speak. And in doing so, she combines different styles, such as street Art and pop art. Her paintings and her theater performances are like her life: vividly colorful, with powerful touches and a sense of movement.

"I never paint without music."

With her keen eye for composition and years of experience directing actors on stage, Charlotte approaches her paintings from a unique perspective. She not only composes images, but those images are composed from a variety of sources and perspectives. One of the biggest sources of inspiration for Charlotte's paintings is music. As a director, she had used music to guide and/or support her theater productions. Now she transposes music to visual art. She translates melodies and rhythms into visual expressions on the canvas. Her paintings dance, in a manner of speaking. They dance to harmonies of colors and to a cadence of brushstrokes, creating a symphony of visual sensations.

Charlotte has traveled all over the world. This also plays an important role in the creation of her paintings. Not only the landscape and places she has visited, but especially the people she met here provide an inspiration for her paintings. After working closely with artists for many years and meeting thousands of people from all over the world, she has developed a deep understanding of human emotions and expressions. She draws on these memories to create captivating abstractions that capture the essence of the human spirit. Each canvas thus resonates a story. Each painting interacts with the viewer, triggering his/her own memories and emotions.
